Female Youth Coordinator (Part-Time)
Organization: Memphis Islamic Center (MIC)
Reports To: Youth Director
Employment Type: Part-TimePosition Summary
The Part-Time Female Youth Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and supporting programs and initiatives that engage and nurture Muslim girls (middle school through college age) at MIC. This role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming, and spiritually enriching environment that supports identity, mentorship, and community connection.

Program Development & Execution
Plan, organize, and lead weekly and monthly sisters’ youth programs (halaqas, socials, workshops, etc.)
Collaborate with the Youth Director to align programming with MIC’s overall youth strategy
Develop age-appropriate content focused on Islamic identity, character development, and real-life challenges
Coordinate special events (retreats, conferences, Ramadan programming, etc.)
Relationship Building & Mentorship
Build strong, trust-based relationships with youth participants
Serve as a mentor and accessible point of contact for sisters in the community
Identify and support youth facing social, emotional, or spiritual challenges (escalate when needed)
Volunteer & Leader Development
Recruit, train, and manage female youth volunteers and peer leaders
Empower high school and college students to take leadership roles in programming
Foster a pipeline of future female leaders within the community
Community Engagement
Engage with parents to keep them informed and involved in youth programming
Collaborate with other MIC committees (education, events, communications)
Support outreach efforts to increase participation among sisters
Logistics & Operations
Coordinate scheduling, room bookings, and program materials
Ensure programs run smoothly and safely in accordance with MIC policies
Track attendance and provide feedback/reporting to the Youth Director

Qualifications
Strong understanding of Islamic principles and youth development
Experience working with youth, preferably in a community or masjid setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to connect with and mentor young Muslim women
Organized, proactive, and able to execute programs independently
Passion for community building and youth empowerment
Preferred Qualifications
Background in education, counseling, psychology, or Islamic studies
Prior experience leading youth programs or halaqas
Familiarity with the Memphis Muslim community (or similar communities)
Work Schedule
Flexible, but must be available for:
Evenings (weekly programming)
Weekends (events and activities)
