WORK WITH MIC
-
Admin Coordinator (Part-Time)
Organization: Memphis Islamic Center (MIC)
Reports To: Executive Director
Employment Type: Part-TimePosition Summary
The Content Creator produces the photo, video, and graphic content that brings Memphis Islamic Center's (MIC) programs, events, and community to life across organic (owned) social media and paid advertising. This role works in close, day-to-day collaboration with the Owned & Paid Media Manager, who sets content priorities, creative briefs, and the marketing calendar, while reporting formally to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is creative, reliable, and comfortable capturing and editing content quickly in live, real-world settings — classes, events, youth programs, and community gatherings — and turning raw footage into polished, on-brand assets ready to post or run as ads.
-
1. Content Production
Shoot photos and video at MIC events, classes, and programs for use across organic social media and paid ad campaigns.
Produce short-form video content (Reels and similar social video) — filming, basic editing, captions, and sound.
Create static graphics and carousel content following MIC's brand guidelines and creative briefs.
2. Collaboration with the Owned & Paid Media Manager
Receive creative briefs and content requests from the Owned & Paid Media Manager; ask clarifying questions to ensure content matches campaign objectives, messaging, and target audience.
Deliver assets on schedule according to the marketing/content calendar; flag delays or conflicts early.
Contribute ideas on content formats, trends, and creative approaches that could improve engagement or ad performance.
3. Event & Program Coverage
Attend and document assigned MIC events, classes, and community activities with photo and video coverage.
Capture testimonials, community stories, and behind-the-scenes moments that support both owned and paid content needs.
Coordinate scheduling with program staff and volunteers to ensure key moments are covered.
4. Editing & Asset Management
Edit photos and videos for use in organic posts, paid ads, newsletters, and other materials.
Organize and maintain a library of raw and finished content assets for future reuse.
Ensure consistent branding, quality, and platform-correct formatting (dimensions, aspect ratios, specs) across channels.
5. Content Ideation & Trends
Suggest new content formats, ideas, and creative approaches based on platform trends and community interests.
Support testing of new creative concepts for paid and organic campaigns alongside the Owned & Paid Media Manager.
6. General Support
Represent MIC with professionalism and respect for its mission, values, and religious environment while capturing content involving staff, community members, and events.
Maintain confidentiality and obtain necessary consent/permission before capturing or publishing sensitive or private moments.
Perform other related duties reasonably assigned by the Executive Director.
